The CEEA (Committee for European Education in Anaesthesiology) comprises near at 100 regional centres for Continuing Medical Education (CME) in Anaesthesiology. All these centres provide courses according to the same schedule - a cycle of six courses covering all the fields of anaesthesia, intensive care, emergency medicine and acute pain management. The courses are given in the language of each country.
Attendance at the courses is limited to around 50 participants to maintain the possibility for interactive discussion between teachers and participants. Given the high quality of these courses, which contain an enormous amount of educational material, the organisers have decided to offer the material, so far available to only a few fortunate specialists, to a much wider audience of anaesthesiologists via the internet. Free access to this website will allow anaesthesiologists worldwide to obtain pedagogical documents, especially in countries where such possibilities are limited.
European Virtual Anaesthesia (EVA) is a website for e-learning developed with the support of GE Healthcare. It is free of access for all anaesthesiologists wishing to update their knowledge in any field of anaesthetic practice.
More interactive exercices such as clinical cases, self assessment, technical corner... are under process to provide CME credits for the anaesthesiologists from countries in which such accreditation system exists.
